Excellent. In those verses, Jesus also ties the Pharisees actions to people like Cain (who murdered his innocent brother out of jealousy), which shows the extent of their hypocrisy. It's a tough challenge to hear Jesus say "do what they they say."

Thanks Edwin I really enjoyed the thoughts you shared from Ralph Walker. I had never looked at it that Jesus was about to "get off" in this trial, but I believe Ralph is correct in his assessment. The bible speaks about Jesus saying that His time was not come, but undoubtedly Jesus new that this WAS his time and therefore he condemned himself by speaking his words.

This post is a wow for me. I have experienced all of the examples that you gave to some degree throughout my life. I truly have faith that I am on the path of discipleship and am increasing in my faith. What a blessing I have been given by God who has shown me such patience.

Edwin I have to admit that I too am guilty of trying to earn God's righteousness thru law. I too found that I was not able to keep the law because I would continually fall from it, then feel unworthy because I could not be good enough.
Thank you for helping me to better understand what God wants and requires of me to be His child. My load is lifted and my focus is acute on having faith in the Father and His Son.
